A nursery for Norbury families, just into Croydon

Norbury sits right on that Croydon and Lambeth border, which means parents here are often weighing up options in two directions at once. Blooming Years on Heathfield Road is one of the closest nurseries you will find coming south from Norbury, and it is the kind of place that is worth the short trip. If you would like to come and have a look around, we would be genuinely glad to show you.

Why families choose us

Our approach

What parents tend to notice when they first visit is that the rooms feel purposeful without being rigid. We do not spend our days telling children what to think or what to do next. Every space, every activity and every conversation between a child and a member of our team is set up to help that child work things out for themselves, build a bit of confidence, and get comfortable with their own ideas. That independence is something children carry with them long after they leave us, and it starts from the very first session.

In practice

The way we settle children in matters enormously to us. Every child joins at their own pace, sessions build up gradually, and you are with them at the start for as long as it takes. We speak with you every single day during settling, and we hold termly one-to-one conversations so you always know where things stand. We accept both 15 and 30 hours funded childcare, so it is worth checking what you are entitled to when you get in touch. We are Ofsted registered and look forward to welcoming our first inspection, which we are confident will match or beat the Good ratings across our other nurseries.

For families in Norbury

Families from Norbury tend to tell us that mornings here have a particular rhythm to them. Many parents are heading to Norbury station for a Thameslink train, which means the drop-off needs to work around a real commute, not just in theory. The fact that we open at 8am and run through to 6pm gives you genuine flexibility around that. Norbury is also a community where people tend to know their neighbours, and that feels like a good fit for how we work. We treat parents as partners, not just as contacts, and that kind of relationship tends to suit families who already think that way.

What London families say

The families already with us can tell you more than we ever could.

  • My daughter attended Blooming Years for 3 years and I will be forever thankful for the amazing teachers for fostering a nurturing environment. This has provided her with brilliant foundations, enabling her confidence, curiosity and resilience to flourish. Thank you for loving her so much!

  • My son went from 1-4 yrs old. He loved it. The staff were patient and kind, offered such a variety of activities, helped him grow in confidence and independence and supported me when I had questions on a few things. He joined reception this year well prepared and ready for his next chapter. Thank you team.

  • Excellent nursery! We are so happy about it. I was so scared about the idea of not finding a good place for my little one. Then I have tried Blooming Years and my baby loves it. The teachers are qualified and they take care of every emotional aspect of the babies. I have visited a lot of nurseries but I never had the same warm feeling.
