A nursery in Croydon built around your child
If you live near Heathfield Road or commute through East Croydon, you will know how much this part of south London has going for it - good transport, real community, and plenty of green space once you get off the main roads. Blooming Years sits right in that mix, on a quiet residential street that feels a world away from the Croydon of retail parks and ring roads. We would love to show you round - come and see what a typical morning looks like for the children here.
Why families choose us
Our approach
Most parents tell us the first thing they notice when they walk in is that the children are genuinely absorbed in what they are doing. That is not an accident. We design everything in the nursery around the idea that children should learn how to think, not just what to think. That means rooms laid out so a child can make their own choices, activities that reward curiosity rather than compliance, and adults who guide rather than direct. The confidence children build here - working things out, trying again, deciding for themselves - is the thing parents tell us they see most clearly when their child moves on to school.

In practice
Settling in well is the foundation of everything else, and we take it seriously. Every child starts at their own pace, with parents present from the very first session, and we build from there week by week until your child is happily independent. During that settling period we speak with you every day, and once your child is established we hold termly one-to-ones so you always have a proper picture of how they are getting on and what comes next. We accept both 15 and 30 hours funded childcare, which makes a real difference to many of the families we work with. We are Ofsted registered and look forward to welcoming our first inspection, which we are confident will match or beat the Good ratings across our other nurseries.

For families in Croydon
Croydon tends to attract families who want honest, straightforward childcare without having to travel out of the borough to find it. We are on a quiet residential street, which means the drop-off feels calm even when the morning does not. Our hours run from 8am and we accept funded childcare, so the numbers work for families where both parents are working. Croydon is a borough where people get on with it, and the nursery reflects that.

What London families say
The families already with us can tell you more than we ever could.
“My son went from 1-4 yrs old. He loved it. The staff were patient and kind, offered such a variety of activities, helped him grow in confidence and independence and supported me when I had questions on a few things. He joined reception this year well prepared and ready for his next chapter. Thank you team.”
“Excellent nursery! We are so happy about it. I was so scared about the idea of not finding a good place for my little one. Then I have tried Blooming Years and my baby loves it. The teachers are qualified and they take care of every emotional aspect of the babies. I have visited a lot of nurseries but I never had the same warm feeling.”

Things parents ask us
Common questions
We are based at 9 Heathfield Road, CR0 1EY, which is straightforward to reach from central Croydon. East Croydon station is nearby and there are good bus connections serving the area, so most families find the journey simple whether they are travelling from the town centre or surrounding neighbourhoods. If you drive, there is on-street parking available close to the nursery.
Yes, we accept both the 15-hour universal entitlement and the 30-hour extended offer for eligible families. The 15 hours is available to all children aged 3 and 4, while the 30 hours is for working families who meet the government's income criteria. We are happy to walk you through what the funding covers and how it works in practice when you get in touch, as every family's situation is a little different.
We welcome children from 3 months through to 5 years, so families can join us from a very early stage and stay right through to school. Places do fill up, particularly for the younger age groups, so we would always encourage you to register your interest as early as you can rather than waiting until you need the place. We allocate places based on our waiting list and will contact you as soon as something suitable becomes available.
We are Ofsted registered and look forward to welcoming our first inspection, which we are confident will match or beat the Good ratings across our other nurseries. In practical terms, being registered means we meet Ofsted's requirements to operate and are accountable to the same standards as any other registered provider. We are not waiting for an inspection to hold ourselves to a high standard, and you are welcome to ask us anything about how we work when you visit.
When you visit, you will have the chance to look around the nursery, meet some of the team, and ask whatever questions are on your mind. We want you to get a genuine feel for how we work rather than a polished show, so we encourage you to take your time and bring your child along if that feels right. Settling in is a gradual process that we tailor to each child, usually involving shorter sessions to begin with so that your child builds confidence and familiarity with us and the environment at their own pace.
