A nursery Tulse Hill families can actually get to
Tulse Hill sits in that useful pocket between Brixton and West Norwood, and if you know the area you know that Christchurch Road is often your quickest route out of it in the morning. Blooming Years Nursery on Hillside Road is a short hop from Tulse Hill, straightforward enough that drop-off does not have to mean a complete rethink of your day. If you would like to come and see us, we are always happy to show you around and answer questions properly, not just hand you a brochure.
Why families choose us
Our approach
What parents tend to notice when they visit us is that the children are busy in a purposeful way. We are not interested in telling children what to think. Every room, every activity and every interaction here is designed to build confidence and independence so that children learn to work things out for themselves. That self-belief is something they carry with them, and it is what we are really here to build.

In practice
On the practical side, every child starts with us gradually. Sessions increase at your child's pace, you are present at the beginning, and we speak with you every single day during the settling period. We hold termly one-to-ones so there is always a proper conversation, not just a quick word at the door. We accept both 15 and 30 hours funded childcare, and we are Ofsted registered and look forward to welcoming our first inspection, which we are confident will match or beat the Good ratings across our other nurseries.

For families in Tulse Hill
Tulse Hill families tend to have a clear head about logistics. A lot of parents here are heading into the City via London Bridge, which means mornings have a shape to them and you need childcare that fits that shape, not the other way around. We are close enough to make drop-off work without adding stress to your journey, and because we run 8am to 6pm you have real flexibility around a commute that does not always run to schedule.

Common questions
From Tulse Hill, Blooming Years Nursery at 5 Hillside Road, SW2 3HL is a straightforward journey of around 10 to 15 minutes by bus, with several local routes connecting the two areas. If you prefer to drive, street parking is available on and around Hillside Road for drop-off and collection. Streatham Hill station is also close by if you are travelling by rail.
Yes, we accept both the 15-hour universal entitlement and the 30-hour extended offer for eligible families. The 15 hours is available for all children from the term after their third birthday, while the 30 hours is for working families who meet the government income criteria. We are happy to talk you through how funding applies to your child's place and what, if any, additional session costs may be involved.
We welcome children from 3 months old through to 5 years, so we can be a home from home right through the early years. Places, particularly for babies, can fill up several months in advance, so we would encourage families to get in touch as early as possible rather than waiting until they need the place. Once you register your interest, we will keep you updated on availability and talk through how we allocate places fairly.
We are Ofsted registered and look forward to welcoming our first inspection, which we are confident will match or beat the Good ratings across our other nurseries. Being awaiting inspection simply means we are a newer setting and have not yet reached the point in our registration where the inspection is scheduled. In practice, the same standards, staffing ratios, and safeguarding frameworks apply from day one regardless of inspection history, and we are transparent about our practice if you have any questions.
When you come for a visit, you will get a proper look around the rooms your child would use, meet some of the team, and have time to ask whatever is on your mind. We do not rush visits and we would rather you left with a clear picture than a polished sales pitch. If you decide to go ahead, we use a gradual settling-in process where your child comes in for short sessions alongside you before building up to full days, taking things at a pace that suits them.
