A nursery for South Wimbledon families, just up the road
South Wimbledon is one of those areas where people put down proper roots - it has good schools, real community feel, and that Northern line station that makes getting into the city straightforward. If you are looking for a nursery that fits around a working week without any drama, Blooming Years on Wimbledon Broadway is close enough to be genuinely convenient. We would love to show you around and let you see for yourself whether it feels right for your family.
Why families choose us
Our approach
What parents tend to mention first when they visit is not the rooms or the resources - it is the way their child is treated as someone capable of working things out. We do not hand children the answer. We design spaces and conversations that help them think for themselves, build confidence at their own pace, and develop the kind of self-belief that stays with them well beyond their time with us. That might sound like a small distinction, but parents tell us it is the thing that stays with them too.

In practice
On the practical side, every child starts gradually. We do not rush settling in. Parents are present at the start, sessions build slowly, and we talk to you every single day during that settling period. Once your child is established, we hold termly one-to-ones so you always have a proper conversation, not just a quick word at the door. We accept both 15 and 30 hours funded childcare, and we are Ofsted registered and look forward to welcoming our first inspection, which we are confident will match or beat the Good ratings across our other nurseries.

For families in South Wimbledon
For families in South Wimbledon specifically, the morning routine here tends to involve the tube, and that shapes everything about how a nursery drop-off needs to work. Broadway Court is a short and simple journey from South Wimbledon, which means drop-off does not cost you twenty minutes of your commute. This is a mixed, grounded part of Merton - not showy, just genuinely good - and we think that sits well with how we run things here.

Things parents ask us
Common questions
From South Wimbledon tube station, the nursery is around a 10 to 12 minute walk north along Merton Road and up to Wimbledon Broadway, which most parents find very manageable on the school run. If you prefer, the 57 and 200 bus routes stop close by. We are right on Wimbledon Broadway at Broadway Court, SW19 1RG, so the location is straightforward to find whether you are on foot or coming in by public transport.
Yes, we accept both the 15 hours universal entitlement and the 30 hours extended offer at Blooming Years. The 15 hours is available to all families with a child aged 3 or 4, while the 30 hours is for working families who meet the income criteria set by the government. We are happy to talk you through what funding you may be entitled to when you come for a visit, and we will make sure the funded hours are applied correctly to your account from the term after your child becomes eligible.
We welcome children from 3 months through to 5 years, so we can support your family from the end of maternity or paternity leave right through to school entry. Places, particularly for babies, do fill up several months in advance, so we would always encourage parents to get in touch as soon as they have a rough start date in mind. We allocate places in the order enquiries are received and will be honest with you about waiting times rather than keep you guessing.
Being Ofsted registered means we meet all the requirements to operate legally as a childcare provider and are subject to Ofsted's regulatory framework from day one. We have not yet had our first inspection simply because we are a newer setting, but we are confident in our practice and look forward to welcoming our first inspection, which we believe will match or beat the Good ratings across our other nurseries. In the meantime, you are welcome to ask us anything about how we work, see our policies, and speak to staff directly so you can make your own informed judgement.
When you visit, we will show you around the rooms relevant to your child's age group, introduce you to the key people and talk through our typical day, our approach to learning and how we communicate with parents. There is no set script; we want you to ask the things that actually matter to you. If you decide to join us, we use a gradual settling-in process that starts with short visits alongside you before your child stays independently, and we pace that entirely around how your child is responding rather than sticking rigidly to a timetable.
